Thank you for tuning in to learn more about the story in AGAINST THE ODDS OF TRADITION, my debut Women’s Historical Fiction novel. The eBook is available for pre-order on Amazon. Paperback and Hardcover will be officially released on March 1st, two days before the Holi Festival of Colors on March 3rd, to celebrate the blooming of Meena’s life along with the upcoming Spring in ours. To catch up on all posts to date, please use the links on the bottom.
I have decided not to create videos for any posts in January and February so I can keep reposting the pre-order announcement video until it is time to post the official launch video in early March. My hope is to minimize distractions from the pre-order video while continuing to provide more information on the story, its context, and promotions and bonuses for subscribers and non-subscribers. Each post contains something for everyone so I hope you will keep reading.
Last week we caught up on three key reveals made during the month of December. Use the link on the bottom of the page to return to the previous post if needed. The newest reveal last week was the introduction of Elizabeth (Eliza) Whitefield, Henry’s widowed and pregnant sister, who arrived in India from Europe two months before the inciting incident that is about to kick off Meena’s story. So, how exactly does Eliza contribute to getting Meena’s story off the ground?
By offering Meena a job. Eliza meets Meena and instantly likes her. How does she meet Meena? Why does she like Meena enough to offer her a paying job? Why does Eliza not hire someone from her own world, in other words an Englishwoman, to help her? You will just have to read the book to find out. What is the job, you might be wondering? It is to help Eliza get settled in India and help her manage the Whitefield household and staff before and after the arrival of her baby.
You see, Henry, who is Rakesh’s partner in his business with the English government, is Eliza’s one and only brother who is also single. In case you need a reminder, Rakesh is Meena’s father who brought her home after preventing her in-laws from burning her alive with her dead husband two years earlier. This is the same business for which Meena occasionally lends a helping hand to her father but never interacts directly with Henry. Well, she is about to. Thanks to Eliza.
Stay with me as we continue to dive deeper into the story and its context during the pre-order period. A new bonus was announced on January 9th for anyone who purchases an eBook by March 31st.
